Joanne Cross
Advocacy and Leadership Development Coordinator
Joanne brings to the team her experience working in both vocational education and the disability sector, where she supported individuals with disabilities and their families to build valued roles within their communities.
She is passionate about literacy, lifelong learning, AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), and the communication rights for everyone to have their voice heard. Joanne and her adult daughter who has a disability have completed navigating the mainstream education system, and in 2020 her daughter’s Micro-Enterprise commenced trading within their local community.

Family Advocacy supports and encourages families and allies of people with disability to become members of our organisation. Membership enables you to connect with like-minded people around NSW who aim to achieve positive change for people with disability. Members can also have pivotal roles in both our systemic advocacy work, workshop development, and presentations.
