The Self-Determination Movement and Service Providers

The self-determination movement does not mean that service providers will not be required anymore. Instead service providers will be required to take a major shift in how they do business. This may mean aligning themselves with self advocates and families to make the service more flexible and effective in order for persons with disabilities to craft meaningful lives for themselves.
